Peshawar carnage: Amir Khan to visit to Pakistan this month

LONDON: Pakistan-born British Boxer Amir Khan said that he will visit Pakistan to express solidarity with the victims of Peshawar attack, local media reported.

Amir Khan said that he will visit Pakistan between Christmas and the New Year.

Khan, 28, said that talking to media about this stuff could be threatening for him, but he just wanted to speak the truth and tell people what is happening is wrong.

He said that he thinks that it’s more important now than ever to go over there. “I think it will send a statement to a lot of people that Amir Khan is going there to make a difference. I want it to be a better country. It’s just a shame – I cannot believe how sick some people are,” he said.

Amir recently donated a pair of £30,000 ($47,007) shorts to the Army Public School where the attack took place.

He wore the shorts, featuring a waistband made from 24-carat gold thread, in a fight against American Devon Alexander in Las Vegas which helped him retain the World Boxing Council (WBC) silver welterweight title.

Earlier, terrorists launched a merciless attack on Army public school and killed 141 people including 132 children while 124 people had got wounds. Some of them are still in observation.
