MQM gets FIR registered against Maulana Abdul Aziz

KARACHI:  A case has been lodged against Lal Mosque Cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz for threatening Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain.

 
The case was registered on the complaint of MQM Rabitta Committee member Arif Khan Advocate at Azizabad police station. Dr Farooq Sattar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Babar Ghauri and Haider Abbas Rizvi were also present on the occasion.
Terrorism, cyber crime and spreading religious hatred clauses have been included in the FIR.
According to MQM, Lal Mosque Cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz in a video message had issued threat to Altaf Hussain.
Meanwhile, speaking to media persons, MQM’s acting convener Qamar Mansoor said his party would stage protest demonstration in Karachi today against murder threat hurled by Maulana Aziz on Altaf Hussain.
He demanded of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif to expand the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan and Khyber Agency to other parts of country.
“There is no room in Pakistan for religious extremism… MQM was first to raise voice against Peshawar attack.”
