Anti terrorism group recommends key measures to end extremism, terrorism

ISLAMABAD: A 10-member anti-terrorism working group has decided to ban newspapers, magazine hate literature propagating extremism and terrorism in the country.

The AT working group meeting was held in capital on Sunday which decided key measures to eradicate extremism and terrorism from the society.

The group has taken principal decision that newspapers, magazine responsible for propagating extremism and terrorism will be banned.

It also decided that the hate literature available in the market which incites people for extremism and terrorism will also be banned.

The group has decided to re-inspect madrasah around the country and joining with madrasah administration to work on ending terrorism and extremism from the society.

The AT working group, which was formed by the National Action Plan Committee (NAPC) comprising of top military and political leadership of Pakistan, had convened a session in Punjab House – Islamabad today.

The group will forward its recommendations to the NAPC in order to excogitate anti-terror action plan.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG-ISI), DG ISI anti-terrorism unit, DG Intelligence Bureau (IB) Aftab Sultan, former DG Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Tariq Pervaiz, NEKTA coordinator Hamid Ali Khan, Rustam Shah Mohmand, Azam Khan and former secretary interior secretary Tasleem Noorani were attending the meeting.
