Quick disposal of terrorism cases: CJP convenes meeting of CJs, incharge judges of ATCs

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of chief justices of Supreme Court of Pakistan and all five high courts will be held on December 24 to mull over ways and means to expedite the process of disposal of terrorism cases in the country in wake of the gory attack on an Army-run public school in Peshawar.

According to a private TV channel, the meeting has been convened by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk which will be held at Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The meeting will be attended by Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Maqbool Baqir, Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Khwaja Imtiaz Ahmed, Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Ghulam Mustafa Mengal and Chief Justice Islamabad High Court  Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi and in-charge judges of anti-terrorism courts of all four provinces.

The meeting will discuss proposals to expedite process of disposal of terrorism cases and security of judges, judicial staff and and prosecutors.

It is to be mentioned here that the gory attack on an Army Public School in Peshawar shook the nation and the whole nation including state institution including judiciary have swung into action to come up to the demands of the situation.
