KARACHI: I have often wondered how low intellectual capacity is of the Indian cinema-goers because films that have such absurd titles as Hum Aap Ke Hain Kaun become super-hit in our neighbouring country. But I have never found an answer. Of course, sitting here in Pakistan I can’t find the answer to this question. If any Indian reader can supply the answer, I will  be indebted.Â
Let me give you a brief list of films whose names I found extremely idiotic.
Although Hum Aap Ke Hain Kaun was released more than 20 years ago, I have yet to know what this title means. It is amazing that people went to watch this film and repeatedly!
Then there was Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. After wasting more than two hours on this film I failed to figure out what it is that hota hai.
Dil To Pagal Hai was another ludicrous title. But the most weird title was Kaho Na Pyar Hai, which made Hrithik Roshan a star. What does it mean? It goes against the nature of a lover to demand his beloved to say Kaho Na Pyar Hai. One feels as if the lover is a gangster and is intimidating the beloved into submission.
Kahin Pyar Na Ho Jaye. As if Pyar is a fatal disease such as AIDS, TB or cancer.
There has also been one Pehla Pehla Pyar. (By the way it was a flop). The name and the song suggests the lover is determined to have more infatuations in life. Is it understandable? When one is in love, one cannot think about anyone but one’s beloved. How can this line be explained?
Hum Apke Dil Mein Rehte Hain was the reverse of what it should have been. Aap Hamarey Dil Mein Rehtay Hain would have been understandable. How can I say to my beloved that I live in her heart. I can of course say that she lives in my heart.
Salman Khan films with nonsensical titles: Janam Samjha Karo; Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam; Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega.
Govinda in films with pathetic titles: Pyar Karke Dekho; Jab Jab Pyar Hua (as if it is an infection which keeps recurring); Pyar Diwana Hota Hai; Wah! Tera Kiya Kehna.
Akshay Kumar: Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya; Deewane Huey Pagal.
Others: Aur Pyar Ho Gaya; Jeena Sirf Mere Liye (is this a lover or an extortionist?); Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya; Main Ne Pyar Kyon Kia.
