Suicide attack at French-run school in Kabul, one killed, 16 injured

KABUL: At least one person was killed while 16 sustained injuries following a suicide bomber attack at a French-run high school in the capital city Kabul of Afghanistan on Thursday (today), foreign news agency reported.

The bomber detonated explosives when students were enjoying an event at the school, deputy interior minister said.



The suspected bomber was seemingly aged 17 who blew himself on the spot, killing at least one while several sustained serious and minor injuries in the incident, General Ayoub Salangi said.

Kabul-Attack

Local reports said that ‘Istiqlal High School’ with French-cultural-center was targeted by militants in the federal capital city. One reporter and two cameramen were injured in the attack.

No group has claimed the responsibility of the attack so far.

The attack was second in a row today as a suicide bomber blew army bus in Kabul, killing at least six people while five persons were reportedly injured in the incident.

Rescue teams rushed the spot and start shifting the bodies and injured to local hospital. Security officials cordoned off the area and started search for clues.

However the intensity of the blast haven’t been determined yet while death toll is expected to be increased.

According to reports, Afghan Taliban had claimed the responsibility of suicide attack.
