Karachi lockdown will decrease PTI mandate: Sharjeel Memon

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Thursday claimed that the lockdown activities would definitely fall public mandate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the metropolitan city Karachi of Pakistan.

Sharjeel Memon while talking to a private news channel via telephone claimed that PTI will see severe consequences of its lockdown call in Karachi which unquestionably diminish its mandate.

He further claimed that the provincial government would not repeat serious mistake of ruling political party, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), in Karachi which they did in Faisalabad by taking party workers on road to fail PTI protest. He added no worker of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will be seen on road tomorrow.

He said labourers on daily wages were badly affected in such protests, however, he expressed fears for violent clashes if PTI workers pressed to end protests.

The information minister became unanswered when inquired about difficulties of students in as Sindh government announced not to close government and private educational institutions, as well as the scheduled examination.

He brought a surprising logic that the students who are living near their schools could manage to reach their educational centers besides admitting that the students living far away could see some difficulties.

However, he failed to provide any logical answer regarding the unexpected decision of the Sindh government regarding students.
