PTI to end protests just after formation of Judicial Commission: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday welcomed the initiative taken by government for unconditional resumption of dialogues, however, he refused to call off the chain of protests in the country.

Imran Khan while addressing sit-ins in Islamabad announced that PTI would take back call for country-wide protests on the day when judicial commission commence investigation of vote rigging after its formation by the government.

He sought the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)-led government’s seriousness over the matter by formation of judicial commission before Karachi protests announced on December 12.

PTI chairman claimed that the judicial commission can be formed within 24 hours while the upcoming dialogues would be commenced from the points where it ended in past.

Imran said that shutting down major cities of the country not favoured by the political party but there was no way left to attain government attention over the issue.

He claimed that PTI protests pressurised PMLN government to resume dialogues. However, he aimed to continue anti-government protests until justice provided to the nation.

It is noteworthy to mention here that the finance minister Ishaq Dar formally invited the protesting PTI on dialogue table and ‘appealed’ Imran Khan to call off protests in different cities of Pakistan.
