Bomb blast in Philippines killed nine

MANILA: As many as nine people were killed and 17 others injured in a bomb blast planted in a bus in the southern Philippines on Tuesday, a military spokesman said.

The bus was travelling through the town of Maramag island of Mindanao when the bomb exploded, said the spokesman.

Rescue services have shifted dead and injured to nearby hospital adding that many injured stated to be in critical condition.

Last month, a bomb exploded aboard a Rural Transit bus in Mindanao, leaving four people wounded. A bus was also targeted in 2010 killing 10 persons.
