According to report, the injured Asghar suffered serious bullet injuries and later succumbed to his injuries at Allied Hospital Faisalabad.

The death infuriated PTI workers, who  started forcible closure of businesses and other commercial activities in the city.

Earlier, a clash broke out at Novelty Bridge Chowk when PTI and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) workers came face to face.

Slogans were raised and both sides pelted each other with stones.

Police tried to disperse protesters by using water cannon and aerial firing but failed to maintain law and order in the city.
