One day anti polio drive starts in KP

PESHAWAR: A one-day polio drive started on Sunday in as many as 97 union councils of Kyhber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province of Pakistan.

During the drive around 700,000 children under age of five will be vaccinated for polio.

As per KP Health Department, as many as 4000 volunteers teams have been formed to vaccinate 0.7 million children under age of five years visiting house to house.

For the drive strict security measures also have been taken by district managements. Around 4000 police personnel have been deployed for the security of the volunteers.

The district management also banned motorbike riding from morning to 5 pm.
