LAHORE: Sukkur police on Saturday made a key arrest from Lahore in connection with Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) leader Dr Khalid Mahmood Soomroo murder.
The police said they had received a forensic report regarding bullets used in the murder.
Eight persons were arrested from Khairpur, Sukkur and Shikarpur related to the murder and they gave important information to the police, police said.
On the information of the arrested persons, a key personality was arrested by Sukkher police from Lahore linked with the murder.
The police said that the JUI-F leader was murdered using a China-made Klashnikov.
It is pertinent to mention here that the JUI-F leader, who was a former senator, was murdered eight days ago on Saturday morning in Sukkur when he was going to lead Fajir prayers.
