ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has suffered a whopping $80 billions due to the ongoing war on terror, besides losing over 50 thousands of its citizens during the 10-year long war, Pakistan’s National Assembly was told by Interior Ministry of the country.
The Interior Ministry on Friday presented the details of losses Pakistan suffered due to the ongoing war on terror and consequent compensation extended by the government to the affected segment of the society including heirs of the victims who lost their lives in incidents of terrorism.
As per the detail, the 10-year so-called war on terror cost Pakistan its over 50 thousands citizens, besides some dollar 80 billions financial losses.
From 2008 to 2012, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa some 968 people were killed in terrorism incidents, while 369 in Balochistan, and 647 people were killed in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
According to the report, some Rs28.9 millions were approved for compensation to the families of victims and injured, while Rs45.33 billions were approved for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while Rs 481 millions were approved for the victims of FATA.
