Hafeez flawless 178 stuns New Zealand in Sharjah Test

SHARJAH: Muhammad Hafeez on Wednesday proved his most productive return via coming back into form as the all-rounder set not out 178 run for Pakistan against New Zealand in the first day of 3rd Test being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Kiwis failed to grab any positive outcome over Daniel Vettori return except Younis Khan’s wicket in the ground in a bid to get series-equalising victory.

Hafeez although missed his second Test match due to injury, as well as left for England for bowling action test, however, the batsman smashed Kiwi bowlers hard by setting his 7th Test century that filled the gap created with fall of Younis Khan’s wicket.

MD Craig from New Zealand got two consecutive wickets including opener Shan Maqsood 12 and Azhar Ali 39 while Vettori became successful to grab major Younis Khan’s wicket who just took the stand on the crease with 5 runs.
