KARACHI: Sindh Education Department has detected over 40 thousands ghost teachers in the province, who visits their respective schools/colleges just once in month that too for collecting their salaries.
Sources said that there were some 40 thousands teachers in province who did not attend school or doing private jobs or business, though they regularly draw their salaries from the provincial education department.
They said that Provincial Secretary Education was facing difficulties in taking actions against the fake and ghost teachers, as many high-ups of the department were involved in the scam.
The sources said that large number of the ghost teacher are journalists, who work for local or international media. These journalists draw their salaries from Education Department, though they did not bother to attend their duties for a single day.
