LAHORE: The government on Tuesday announced the names the 5-men Joint Investigation Team (JIT) members to probe into the Model Town, which will start its investigation from Wednesday.
The five-member JIT will also include representatives from the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB).
The investigation, which will be headed by CCPO Quetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema, comprised SSP Shehzad AKbar, DSP Khalid Abubakar, Colonel Ahmed of ISI and Muhammad Ali of IB.
The team will investigate the First Information Report (FIR) lodged onAugust 28 in Faisal Town police station by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) lawyers.
It is to be mentioned here that Pakistan Awami Tehreek had already rejected the new JIT, objecting to inclusion of police officers in the JIT.
About 13 PAT workers were killed and over 100 injured on June 17, when police and PAT workers clashed following an anti-encroachment operation launched by police.
