ISLAMABAD: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) claimed that ten more millitants surrended before security forces along with their weapons and ammunition in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency on Monday.
350 millitants including 20 commanders surrendered to security forces during Operation Khyber-1 commenced on October 16 in Lashkar Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) hideouts in Tirah and Bara areas controlled by militant commander Mangal Bagh, ISPR said.
The military public relations wing detailed 30 militants of Lashkar Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) is the largest group of militants that surrendered before security forces during the operation.
Commander Mangal Bagh is considered as the most powerful militant head in the Tirah and Bara areas of Khyber Agency after a reported merger with banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Tariq Afridi group.
However, military sources claimed killing at least 135 militants and 250 arrestments during the operation.
