ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday declared that the ongoing investigation from long-time Pakistan expert at US State Department, Robin Raphel, by the FBI as US’s internal matter.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam at a weekly press briefing said that Raphle was a friend of Pakistan and had a deep understanding of the region, but Pakistan had neither asked the US to share investigation nor the US disclosed the reason for probing her.
To a question about the presence of Islamic State jihadist group in Pakistan, the Spokesperson said that the Interior Minister had already gave a statement regarding IS.
“Pakistan is against all trans-national terrorists organisations and would not allow its territory to be used against any other country,” she noted.
She said Afghan President Ashraf Ghani would arrive in Pakistan on a two-day-visit from November 14 till November 15 and will holds talks with Pakistani authorities including President Mamnoon Hussain.
