ISLAMABAD: Bangladesh’s High Commission (HC) in Islamabad and Deputy High Commission (DHC) in Karachi have demanded enhanced security from government of Pakistan after receiving threats.
The Pakistani government has asked details of diplomatic and non diplomatic staff at (HC) Islamabad and DHC Karachi and suggested them to limit staff movement.
A local Urdu daily has quoted sources as saying that Bangladesh HC in Islamabad has informed Pakistan foreign office (FO) through a letter that unidentified persons have threatened to attack Islamabad HC and Karachi DHC Â and demanded protection.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has assured it of complete protection.
In this connection Interior Ministry and Sindh home ministry have been informed and directed to provide security to Bangladesh Islamabad HC and Karachi DHC as well as on the residences of their staff.
