Karachi University shut for fear of “Go Nawaz Go” slogans

KARACHI: The administration shut Karachi University for the laptop distribution ceremony on Tuesday for fear of “Go Nawaz Go” slogans.

Teaching will be suspended in morning as well as evening.  Administration offices will also remain closed and examinations have been canceled.

The university officially did not give any reason for the closure.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mariam Nawaz will distribute laptops in the afternoon as part of Prime Minister’s Laptop scheme.

Sources said the administration feared students could chant “Go Nawaz Go” slogans if teaching was continued.
