Ahmed Shehzad has minor skull fracture

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board said that opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad had been diagnosed with a minor skull fracture, as he was hit on the head a bouncer from Corey Anderson during the ongoing first test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi on Monday. 

The broad in a statement said that Shehzad would be under strict observation for over the next 48 hours and may have to undergo decompression on the fracture if his pain does not subside.

Shehzad injured when a bouncer from Corey Anderson hit on the head of the young player. The injury caused Shehzad so much pain that he dropped his bat on to the stumps as he wheeled away and collapsed to the ground. Later he was shifted to a local hospital in an ambulance, where he went head scanning.

Team manager Moin Khan said that the scans  had shown a depressed fracture of the zygomatic arch of the skull. “The specialist surgeon has confirmed minor fracture and has advised 48 hours of close monitoring. In case the pain doesn’t subside then the surgeon may opt for decompression,” Moin said.
