Jayawardene fifth to cross 12,000 ODI runs mark

HYDERABAD: Sri Lankan experienced batsman Mahela Jayawardene has become the fifth batsman to score 12,000 runs in One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

Jayawardene crossed this milestone against India at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday, November 9.

He knocked century (118) with help of a six and 12 boundaries in the third match. He has played so far 426 matches in his ODI history.

Indian Sachin Tendulkar on the first number with his 18,426 runs, Australian Ricky Ponting on second with 13,704, Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya on third with 13,430 runs and Kumar Sangakkara on fourth position with 12,918 in ODI.
