Imran suggests commission under SC assisted by ISI, MI to probe election rigging

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Pakistan Tehreeek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has suggested to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif government to make commission under Supreme Court of Pakistan assisted by ISI and MI to investigate election rigging in last general election without resigning premiership 

Addressing huge rally at Rahim Yar Khan Khwaja Farid College ground, the PTI chief suggested that commission should be constituted under the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the commission neutral head would be decided by PTI and the government after negotiation adding that for investigation Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) should be made part of the commission.

He said that the PM Nawaz Sharif must resign if commission inquiry proved that rigging were carried out in last general election and new elections would be held after the inquiry.

Imran also said that the commission should investigate the rigging in four to six weeks.

The PTI chief clarified that they will not accept Justice (retd) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani as Chief Election Commissioner declaring him as non-neutral.

He also rejected existing Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and demanded new Election Commission.

The PTI head also stressed people of all walks of life to reach Islamabad on November 30 to protest against the government.

Imran also announced rallies in Nankana Sahib, Gunjranwalla,  Sahiwal, Jehlum and Larkana.

He strongly criticized the government and judiciary action against Mubashir Luqman declaring him a person who was playing a role of opposition by highlighting the government corruption.

The PTI chief revealed that Nawaz Sharif and Intelligence Bureau were planning to send the journalist into jail.

He said that judiciary was not working like an independent judiciary as the judiciary did not take action against the PM Nawaz Sharif in Islami Jamhori Ittehad (IJI) formation case in which general retd Durrani had submitted affidavit that Nawaz Sharif and other politicians took as many as 3.5 million rupees form intelligence agency ISI.
