Pakistan summons US ambassador to lodge protest over ‘baseless’ report

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday summoned United States (US) Ambassador Richard Olson to the Foreign Officer and lodged strong protest against a US defense department report, wherein Pakistan has been accused of having sanctuaries being used against Afghanistan and India .

According to Foreign Office, Prime Minister Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz handed over a demarche to the US Ambassador protesting against US Defense department report “ Progress Towards Security and Stability in Afghanistan” in which it was stated without facts and proofs that “sanctuaries” are present in Pakistan which are being used against Afghanistan and India and termed it baseless and without proofs.

Pakistan rejected the US report as baseless and without facts.
