Intercity buses fares slashed up to seven percent

KARACHI: After negotiation between bus owners and Sindh government owners of intercity buses have agreed to slash fares up to seven percent but deadlock remained on public transports within the city.

The Minister for transport for Sindh Mumtaz Jakhrani conducted successful dialogue with Sindh Bus Owners office bearers and announced that fares of intercity buses running from Karachi to other cities of Pakistan would be slashed up to seven percent.

The new slashed rates will be implemented from Thursday, November 6.

According to the new rates of Karachi cum Hyderabad AC buses fares would be decreased 20 rupees and now charge 265 rupees while non AC buses reduced 12 rupees and new rate would be 158 rupees.

On the other hand deadlock remained between Karachi Transporters Ittehad and the Sindh government dialogue.

Furthermore, transporter body would decide the matter in meeting which will be held on Thursday.
