Imran calls on Sirajul Haq to remove misunderstandings

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan on Wednesday went to Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mian Aslam to meet JI chief Sirajul Haq in a bid to remove the misunderstandings due to the former public criticism of Haq, wherein he had asked him (Haq) to shun playing on both sides of the wicket.

According to media reports, Imran accompanied by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Pervez Khattak and Speaker KP Assembly Assad Qaiser went to the Islamabad residence of former JI MNA Mian Aslam.

The meeting is viewed as a bid to remove the misunderstandings and improve relations between the two allies in KP, which strained after Imran public outburst against Sirajul Haq.

A newspapers (Dawn) carried out a news report, wherein it attributed a statement to JI chief saying that PML-N and PTI are two sides of a single coin. Though the newspaper withdrew its report and apologized for misreporting, Imran lashed out Sirajul Haq for what he said playing on both sides of the wicket. He had asked Sirajul Haq to make it clear whether the JI was with PML-N or PTI.

At the moment, the two leaders are in a one-on-one meeting and are expected to talk to media following their meeting.
