Suicide bomber could not enter security zone: DG Rangers Punjab

LAHORE: Punjab DG Rangers Maj Gen Tahir Javed Khan has confirmed that blast at Wagah border was a suicide blast and three Rangers soldiers have died in the attack.

The DG Rangers, while talking to media, said that five Rangers officials were critically injured.

The Rangers official said that the suicide bomber was standing near the first scanner and he could not breach security.

He said the place where the suicide attacker blew up himself was 500-600 yards away from the parade ground.

About security measures he said that walkthrough gates and scanners were installed near the parade ground. He added that the suicide bomber waited for the end of the parade.

He also requested to media persons to stay away from the crime scene so that there is no hurdle in investigation.
