Samsung Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 finally debut with 5MP front cameras

SEOUL: South Korean Technological giant Samsung finally unveiled it’s A series devices, Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 both with 5 megapixels front cameras.

Both device feature a full-metal unibody design. The Galaxy A3 is just 6.9mm thick while A5 coming in at 6.7mm, which is as thin as the Alpha.

The focus on social networking seems to stem from the 5-megapixel front-facing cameras on both the A3 and A5, which Samsung says will “offer a superior mobile and social experience to young consumers who want to express their unique style while constantly staying connected.”

The device comes with Wide Selfie, Palm Selfie, Rear Cam Selfie, and Beauty Face software which debuted on the Galaxy Note 4.

A Series also has LTE connectivity. In terms of hardware, The Galaxy A5 features a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, a quad-core 1.2GHz processor (unclear if this is a Snapdragon 400 or 410, but it is probably the latter), 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera, 16GB of internal memory, a microSD slot, and a 2,300 mAh battery.

The Galaxy A3 differs with a 4.5-inch qHD (540×960) display, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1GB of RAM, and a smaller 1,900 mAh battery.

Both devices will feature an NFC chip on the LTE variants, and will run on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Samsung has included features like Ultra Power Saving Mode, and an option to change between four themes.
