Motorola Droid Turbo vs Nexus 6: which one is better?

WASHINGTON: As Motorola unveiled it’s flagship device Motorola Droid Turbo at Verizon event let’s have a quick comparison between Motorola Nexus 6 and Droid Turbo.

Motorola manufacture Google Nexus 6 for search engine giant which made its debut this month while company on Tuesday unveiled its flagship smartphone.

As expected Motorola Droid Turbo has a 5.2 inch display has 2560×1440 Quad-HD resolution at an insane 562 pixels per inch, a big boost from the 1080p. It has a speedy 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, which is about the fastest mobile CPU you can get right now. It has 3GB of RAM, too.

Droid Turbo boost the rare camera sensor up to 21 megapixels and can record 4K video at 24 fps, with features like slow-motion, burst mode, panorama and a dual-LED flash. The front-facing camera is 2 megapixels, and can record 1080p video.

It features a 3,900mAh battery, which offers up to 48 hours of battery life according to Motorola and Verizon.

And that battery charges fast, too: an included Turbo Charger allows the Turbo to get 8 hours of use in only 15 minutes of charge time. We haven’t tested this out yet, but those features alone could make anyone want to adopt it.

The Droid Turbo will come with “pure” Android 4.4.4, but with a guaranteed upgrade to Android Lollipop when it’s available soon.

Verizon owns the Droid name, and the Droid Turbo is a Verizon-only device, costing $199.99 under contract, or $25 per month via Verizon Edge. It comes with 32GB of onboard storage, but there’s also a 64GB version for $249.99 ($27/month on Verizon Edge). It’s available October 30.

On the other hand The Nexus 6 is the biggest Google smartphone, it has a 5.9-inch Quad HD display, a 13MP camera, and dual front-facing stereo speakers.

It powered by quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, and comes in 32GB and 64GB storage variants.

The battery is also big at 3220mAh, and we expect it’ll need it, The device has the very familiar design to Moto X. As expected Google launched the devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The phone also comes with a Motorola Turbo Charger, which should give you six hours of power from a 15 minute charge.

The Nexus 6 will go up for pre-order on October 29 and will be available in stores in November. Without a contract it’s going to cost $649 (global prices incoming) for the 32GB version. So yeah, not cheap.
