LHC accepts petition seeking ban on PML-N, PPP, JUI-F for regular hearing

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday accepted for regular hearing a petition seeking ban on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) for not holding intra-party elections.

The petition has been filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Gohar Nawaz Sindhu.

The petitioner has submitted that the PPP, PML-N and JUI-F had failed to hold intra-party elections which is a clear violation of Political Parties Act.

Sindhu pleaded the court the the aforesaid parties should be restrained from contesting the elections.
