Former JI Bangladesh ameer passes away

LAHORE: Former ameer  of Jamat-e-Islami Bangladesh Professor Ghulam Azam passed away.

According to a a press release of JI Lahore chapter, the  ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza (funeral in absentia )  will be offered at 2:30 pm on Friday after Jummah prayers  at Shuhda Mosque near Mall road, Lahore.

JI Pakistan Ameer Sirajul Haq will lead the prayer.

It is to be mentioned here that Prof. Azam was languishing in jail, as the controversial War Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh had handed him down death sentence in war crimes trial, which was later commuted to life imprisonment due to his poor health.
