KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday said that Army and secret agencies raised Taliban.
Addressing a programme here over phone from London, the MQM chief demanded strict action against those who massacred innocent people in the name of religion.
He posed a question that from where these militants and Taliban have come? “The militants and Taliban were raised by our secret agencies and the Army,” he added.
He further said that the Army had unnecessarily been dragged into the Jihad against Soviet Union in 1980s, which promoted extremism in the society.
Altaf strongly condemned the suicide attack on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman in Quetta. He expressed grief and sorrow over the death of JUI-F workers in the attack.
He said that the terrorists had imposed an undeclared war on Pakistan, saying that religious scholars, educationists, professionals and people from different sects were being targeted.
