Bilawal invites MQM to join hands with PPP to develop Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he will make an announcement on November 30 about his “lion hunt” plan.

The PPP chairperson, addressing a huge rally in Karachi, criticized almost all major political parties but Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PIT) got the largest share of his criticism. He declared the leadership of PTI as “political orphans”.

He interestingly said that PTI wanted to be MQM of Lahore. Bilawal hardly left any issues pertaining to Pakistan, covering defence, political situation, and provinces sense of deprivation, plight of Karachi, Kashmir, foreign relations, operation Zarb-e-Azb and role of his party in future.

He addressed the rally for around one and half hour. He looked more confident than before and relatively more fluent in Urdu.

The PPP chairperson invited Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to work with his party for the development and progress of the mega city of the country.

He demanded federal government to provide special emergency package for Karachi as the city’s population is double that of Lahore, but it has half the number of police force than Lahore.

Bilawal said Karachi was made capital by the Quaid-e-Azam. People from throughout the country live in Karachi, including Pakhtuns, Sindhis, Baloch, Punjabis, Seraekis, Gilgitis, Kashmiris and Bengalis.

The young PPP leader said Karachi belonged to all Pakistanis. He said that Karachi has less number of crimes than New York and Washington.

Regarding operation Zarb-e-Azb, he said it was continuing with success but some people wanted to stab Pakistan Army in its back on this occasion.

He said people who were afraid of Taliban should at least inquire about Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) plight.

He said that Kashmir will become part of Pakistan and said that when he talked about Kashmir, India got disturbed.

About the Punjab government’s metro bus project, he said it was a normal project but huge amount of money was spent on it.

Bilawal also slammed Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif for “resorting to killing of people and not allowing the relatives of the victims to register FIR of it”.

He also said that next general election would be held in 2018.
