WASHINGTON: As Apple and Google both launched their respective flagship devices, now let’s compare both devices to find out which one is better.
Both companies have launch their tablets on the same date but difference in timing.
Let’s take a look at Apple iPad Air 2:
The Apple iPad Air 2 is 6.1mm thin which make it the world’s thinnest tablet and it is powered by 64-bit A8X processor with 40% faster CPU and 2.5x GPU. It runs on company’s latest iOS 8.1 operating system.
The device has 180x the graphics performance of the original iPad with 10 hours of battery life. Apple iPad Air 2 features an 8 megapixel iSight rare camera with 1.12 micron pixels and f2.4 which can record 1080p HD video.
As expected iPad features finger scanner Touch ID similar to the one present in iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. The device also features next generation 802.11AC Wi-Fi with MIMO which is 2.8x faster than the current versions available in the market which makes LTE connection even faster.
The iPad is available in the storage capacities of 16/64/128 GB and cost $499, $599 and $699 respectively.
Now we look at Google Nexus 9:
Google Nexus 9 which has a 8.9-inch, 2048 x 1536 display with an iPad Air-esque 4:3 aspect ratio this is a rear rival to Apple’s tablet dominance. It is powered by a 64 bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, 2GB of RAM and the choice of either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, while on the front there are dual Boomsound speakers from HTC.
The device has an 8MP camera complete with LED flash while 1.6MP front camera. The Nexus 9 will be available in three colours, black, white and sand, as well as in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+4G combinations.
Google has confirmed that the Nexus 9 will go on pre-order from October 17 with the Nexus 9 release date set for November 3, although its not clear whether that’s a US-only release for now.
So both devices are pity much competitors but introduction of finger scanner and Touch ID give iPad Air 2 slight advantage.
