ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended as many as 212 legislators for not submitting their assets’ details to ECP.
October 15 was last date for submission of asset details, but despite the lapse of the deadline, the legislators did not submit the detail of assets.
The ECP issued a notification suspending the member which states the suspended members cannot take party in any activity of their respective assemblies and houses.
Prominent among those who have been suspended are Owais Leghari , Daniyal Aziz, Qayyum Soomro, Ghulam Rabbani, Owais Muzaffar alias Tappi and Jaffar Iqbal.
As many as 98 members of Punjab Assembly, nine of Baluchistan Assembly , 29 of Sindh 29, 34 of KP assembly two Senators and 40 MNAs have been suspended for not submitting details of assets.
