UN team visits Indian shelling hit border areas, ISPR

RAWALPINDI: The United Nation Military Observer Group India Pakistan (UNMOGIP) visited border areas on Tuesday and Monday where Indian forces have been shelling and killed many civilians, ISPR said.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations, the mission members visited Charwah, Chaprar, Pakhlia and Sialkot sectors.

Team of UN observers met the villagers, witnessed and gathered first hand account of  damage caused to human lives and property due to recent  Indian hostility on the Working Boundary.

The UN mission also visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Sialkot and met with civilians affected by the Indian forces unprovoked firing.

At the occasion, the briefing was given to UN mission regarding the Indian indiscriminate shelling.

The briefing stated that as many as 26 times Indian forces violated ceasefire along working boundary and Line of Control (Loc) since October 1.

One Pakistani citizen martyred at Loc while 11 Pakistanis innocent civilians were martyred along working boundary.

The UNMOGIP has visited the Indian shelling hit areas after Pakistan wrote a letter to United Nations over continual ceasefire violations by the Indian army along the working boundary.
