British Parliament passes motion to recognise Palestine as state

LONDON: British Parliament passed motion with an overpowering majority to recognise Palestine as a state alongside Israel in the House.

The 274 MPs voted in support of the motion while 12 voted against.

“This House believes that the government should recognise the state of Palestine beside the state of Israel as a contribution to securing a negotiated two-state solution,” the motion reads.

British government will not be bounded after accepting the motion but the value of Palestine state would be a symbolic.

More than half member of British Parliament didn’t take the participation in the motion except Prime Minister David Cameroon and ministers.
