MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday demanded impartial inquiry into the stampede at PTI rally on October 10, shrugging off the assertions that PTI was responsible for the tragedy that claimed seven lives and injured over 40.
The PTI chief was talking to media in Multan after visiting the diseased’s families, who lost their loved ones in the tragedy .
Imran said that the party wanted impartial inquiry into the tragedy through judiciary as district administration could not conduct fair inquiry.
He also informed the media that the party will discuss all the matters relating to Multan stampede tragedy on Monday (tomorrow) in party’s core committee meeting.
The PTI head said that all the matters relating to stampede needed to be probed including closure of gates.
The cricketer-turned politician said that local administration did not take adequate arrangement for the rally on October 10 adding that when people were dying and the police were behaving like a silent spectator.
Imran congratulated Malala over getting Nobel Peace Prize and said that her struggle for children right to education is remarkable and PTI has children education in its priority in the party manifesto.
