LHC Registrar returns petition seeking ban on ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogan

LAHORE: Registrar Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday returned a constitutional petition seeking the court to order ban on  “Go Nawaz GO” slogans by raising objection over it.

The registrar while raising objections over the petition directed the petitioner to removes the same by next week.

It is to be mentioned here that a common citizen had filed the petition seeking a ban on ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogans .

The petitioner had argued that there was a fear of clash between the supporters of two major parties – ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) – due to this slogan.

“Such freedom of speech that harm public order and tranquility should be curbed,” he pleaded.

The PTI led by Imran Khan is instrumental behind popularity of this slogan in its protests against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during the last few weeks.
