MULTAN: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid had to cancel his scheduled press conference at Multan Press Club (MPC) following a protest demonstration by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) workers amid earsplitting sloganeering of ‘Go Imran Go’ and ‘Go Sheikh Go,’ TheNewsTribe.com reported on Thursday.
According to TheNewsTribe.com correspondent, AML chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was to address a press conference at Multan Press Club on Thursday. However, before his arrival at the club for press conference, PML-N workers started assembling outside the MPC. The angry protesters tore Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and AML banners and poster and started sloganeering against PTI chief Imran Khan and Sheikh Rashid. They resorted to ‘Go Imran Go’ and Go Sheikh GO’ slogans.
Following the protest demonstration, AML chief cancelled his press conference. He accused PML-N of resorting to vandalism. He said that the government did n0t provide him security.
