DIG East suspends five SHOs over toxic liquor deaths

KARACHI: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police, East Zone,  Muneer Shiekh, has suspended five Station House Officers (SHOs) over the death of 27 people due to consumption of toxic liquor in Karachi, police said.

The DIG East has suspended SHO Landhi, Zaman Town, Shah Latif, Korangi and Sharafi Goth police stations with immediate effect.

The DIG also  recommended suspension of two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs).

The action has been taken for their negligence and carelessness in taking action against the illegal and toxic liquor dens that caused death of 27 people.
