US court summons Inidan PM Modi over Gujrat riots

WASHINGTON: A US court has summoned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over human rights violation during Gujarat riots in his tenure as Chief Minister, Indian media reported.

According to India media reports, the US court has summoned Indian PM to appear before the court in 19 days to respond on Human rights violation in 2002 during Gujarat riots.

It is pertinent to mention here that more than 2000 Muslims were killed in attacks on Muslim majority areas by Hindu extremist in Gujarat in year 2002 when Narendra Modi was Chief Minister of the Indian state.
