Govt contacts SC to get relief against session court FIR registration

ISLAMABAD: The Government has asked for relief to the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) against registration of FIR against government authorities including premier, interior minister and others over killing of protesters.

The government has contacted to SC through written statement of Attorney General instead appeal in high court against session court decision.

In its reply the government said that registration of FIR against political administration was against the law and clear injustice.

The written reply stated that the government showed restraint against protesters and protesters were taken law into their hands when they attacked Parliament building and state TV (PTV) building.

The statement further added that government forces had not have arms at the time of action against the protesters adding that one of protesters died due to physical reasons and two of protesters died of their own accomplices firing.

The government of the view that session court judge neglected law officer argument while giving orders to register FIR against government officials.

The Attorney General replied that the government registered FIR against the protesters killing on August 31 while another FIR registration against the case was illegal.
