SC grants bail to key accused in Hajj corruption case

ISLAMABAD: A Supreme Court (SC) bench released Rao Shakeel, former DG Hajj, accused in Hajj Corruption case on bail on September 22, Monday (today).

The SC bench headed by Justice Anwer Zaheer Jamali heard the Hajj corruption case.

The apex court granted bail to Rao Shakeel against Rs10 million surety and surrender of his passport to the court.

The court also imposed the condition that his bail would be cancelled if he did not appear before the court on two consecutive hearings.

Justice Qazi Faiz Essa remarked during the hearing that the court had no reason to deny the accused bail any more as he has been constantly in jail for four years.
