KARACHI: Pakistan International Airline (PIA) was forced to send its flight without carrying Pakistan Peoples Party leader Rehman Malik and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Ramesh Kumar because of resistance by passengers on September 16 from Jinnah International airport, Karachi.
According to reports, the passengers had been sitting in the plane for more than two hours waiting for the plane to fly. But their rage knew no bounds when they saw a PML-N politician coming into the plane.
They lambasted him for wasting their time and forced him to leave the plane. PPP leader Rehman Malik who also wanted to go by the same flight retreated when he realized the mood of the passengers.
After an incident, Rehman Malik said that it was a PIA mistake not his.
PIA officials said that the airplane was late because of technical fault.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for civil aviation Shujat Hussain took notice of the incident and suspended Shift Manager Nadeem and Terminal Manager Shehzad over their negligence.
