Sri Lanka win ODI series by 2-1 against Pakistan

DAMBULLA: Sri Lanka thrashed Pakistan by seven wickets at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in their third and final One-Day International (ODI) match on Saturday to win theĀ  series by 2-1.

Dilshan scored 50 off 55 balls, hitting nine boundaries against the Green-shirts, helpingĀ  Sri Lanka to race past the target of 103.

Earlier, Pakistan collapsed to 102 runs in 32.1 overs as its top-order failed miserably. Only Fawad Alam offered some resistance to the Sri Lankan bowlers, scoring 38 runs. All the other batsmen failed to tackle the hosts’ bowlers.

Pakistan had won the first match by four wickets in Hambantota. Sri Lanka had won the second ODI by 77 runs.

Pakistan lost both Test and ODI series ahead of their important series against Australia in November.
