ISLAMABAD: A politico-religious party, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), chief Siraj-ul-Haq termed ‘current scenario’ as ‘defeat of Pakistani politicians’ while pointing over military mediation in dialogue process.
Siraj-ul-Haq said that all issued should be resolved via negotiations even it would take 100 days while ‘looking towards Rawalpindi in current scenario is the failure of politicians.’
He was addressing a ceremony in Lahore on Saturday (today) and expressed his views over ongoing political turmoil in Pakistan followed by strong protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
Haq slammed the political powers over sequential failures in negotiations, although several solutions were presented before Pakistan government and protestors.
JI chief clarified that Pakistani citizens are ‘real mediator’ in the issue while he has guaranteed the acceptance of demands by Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri on behalf of the parliament.
He reiterated that whole parliament could guarantee the fulfillment of PTI and PAT demands if Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri showed agreement on the suggestion.
He further demanded transparent investigation into vote rigging during 2013 general election and re-polling across the country if allegations proved true.
