Tahirul Qadri announces ‘Revolution Day’ today

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri on Wednesday night announced to observe ‘Revolution Day’ on August 28 today via closing all doors of dialogues after providing maximum chances to Pakistani rulers.

While addressing the party workers, he said that PAT has completed all moral obligations and provided maximum opportunity to the Government for fulfillment of party demands through dialogue.

The PAT Chief informed that Government has completely refused to accept two demands adding that neither they will  register case against Model Town Incident on 21 accused nor Chief Minister Punjab would resign.

Following two rounds of talks with federal ministers Ishaq Dar and Zahid Hamid, Qadri announced that the dialogue process with the government had completely failed.

“We had told the government’s negotiation team that if they were ready to accept our first two demands, then instead of informing us send the SHO Faisal Town Police to the station so that FIR is registered. Resignations of chief minister and prime minister aside, the government is not even ready to register the FIR of the Model Town incident,” PAT Head told his supporters.

He added that the government delegation should not bother coming back “as we gave dialogue a chance till the very end”.

“Thursday will be Youm-e-Inqilab (Revolution Day),” Qadri told his supporters, declared (Thursday) as the deciding day.

“I will not hold you here any further. The Inqilab March and sit-in will end on Thursday. Time has come for all people to leave their homes and join the final struggle for their liberation from the corrupt and oppressive regime,” said Qadri, adding that he would “transfer the powers to the people to decide their future course of action at 4pm”.

The PAT chief also rechristened Constitution Avenue as “Revolution Avenue”.

Few hours extension in deadline

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri on Wednesday came out of his container, announced that final strategy will be announced shortly before the party workers.

Another deadline has met its final limit today; set up by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri on August 25.

Tahirul Qadri, after meeting three-member government negotiators, said that deadline could be extended for few hours if ‘two demands’ fulfilled immediately by the Pakistan government.

Qadri has not revealed the ‘two demands’ officially till yet and said ‘to apprise the demands before nation afterwards.’

Demands to extend deadline:

1. Tahirul Qadri has demanded the registration of First Investigation Report (FIR) against accused persons of Model Town incident where 14 PAT workers were killed during a police operation while protesting against government, sources said.

2. PAT chief demanded resignations of Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and all nominated provincial, federal ministers in the Model Town incident case, sources added.

Qadri’s addresses PAT workers:

He further said that PAT sit-ins would never end or delay until all demands are fulfilled completely as they are fighting to get basic rights of the nation. He threatened, ‘Government must have to honour our rights otherwise we will snatch it.’

While stating details of meeting with government negotiators, Qadri said, ‘The delegation sought time till 9:30pm today otherwise I will make complete announcement of future strategy in my next address.’

On the protest’s spot, PAT workers are fully prepared to follow any call from their leader, whereas, PTI marcher started to gather again including large number of women and children.

Qadri called the locals to join PAT’s revolution march in large number in sake of their future generation. PAT chief added that he is fighting for the rights of poors, needy and victims of the country.

Hundreds of shrouded participants of the PAT’s Revolution March emerged from their camps in shape of a rally in the federal capital Islamabad.

Tahirul Qadri contacts Imran Khan:

PAT chief have made a telephonic conversation with another protesting ally, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, Imran Khan after ending of deadline.

Both leaders discussed the ongoing political situation in the federal capital Islamabad, as well as the moves of Pakistani government in term of negotiations, local media quoted sources.

Tahirul Qadri and Imran Khan exchanged messages besides the containers of both leaders placed on few meters distance before Pakistani Parliament House.

Imran Khan had announced earlier that he will announce the next strategy for the march, as well as invited all the citizens of the country to join his Independence March.

Government negotiators at Qadri’s place:

Members of government negotiators have reached at the place of Tahirul Qadri’s special container for holding important meeting to resolve issue via talks.

The governmental team include federal ministers Ishaq Dar, Zahid Hamid and PM’s cousin Javaid Shafeeq.

PAT chief Tahirul Qadri has maintained silence till yet as his further strategies or announcements are due to come before the nation after ending of deadline to Pakistan govt.

According to sources, Governor of Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar arrived in Islamabad few minutes ago.

Both high-ups would hold an important session with PAT chief Tahirul Qadri during their stay in the Punjab province.

Governor of Sindh, Punjab arrives Islamabad:

Governor of Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar arrived in Islamabad few minutes ago.

Both high-ups would hold an important session with PAT chief Tahirul Qadri during their stay in the Punjab province.

The high-ups have arrived in Pakistan’s Prime Minister House in the federal capital to discuss ongoing political situation and then would meet the protesting PAT leader.

Security on ‘High-Alert’:

The Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar directed the administrative authorities to be prepared for any emergency situation in view of PTI, PAT recent announcements.

The high-level meeting also considered to provide an alternate place to protestors as compare to Red Zone.

Heavy contingents of law enforcement officials have been deployed in the surroundings of the various governmental buildings comprising of Punjab Police, Frontier Corps (FC), Sharp-Shooters while the buildings included as national entities are under security of Pakistan’s military.

Full Story of Tahirul Qadri’s inflammatory speech on August 25:

Earlier on August 25, Tahirul Qadri had announced 48-hour deadline to the Pakistani government for ‘Revolution’ via dissolution of assemblies nationwide and vacating the parliament houses.

The PAT chief delivered an inflammatory speech before the party workers lodging sit-ins before Parliament House in Islamabad since August 14.

Tahirul Qadri leveled serious allegations on the Pakistani government, claimed that the ongoing governance setup is ‘completely undemocratic’.

He announced to convert PAT’s ‘sit-ins’ into ‘revolution’ after his address in the federal capital of Pakistan.

PAT chief said that the revolution started after martyrdom of party workers in Model Town of Lahore and now he has aimed for ‘Shahadat’, martyrdom, as well.

Tahirul Qadri demanded the rulers to leave the houses after dissolving all assemblies of Pakistan.

During the address, Qadri broke down into tears as he showed his ‘burial garment’ before the PAT protestors in order to charge their motives as he announced to take over parliament after ending of deadline.

He also demanded release of special report finalised by joint investigation team.

Qadri alleged that the federal government commenced dialogues for wastage of time while the highest electoral board, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), was formed in violation of Article 213.

PAT chief said that the government, prime minister, chief ministers and lawmakers have been imposed unconstitutionally on the nation.

He claimed, ‘No one could prove my allegations wrong’. He further said, ‘We had told Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan that you will cry after May 11 general election held in 2013.’

The protesting leader said, ‘ECP official Afzal Khan has proved hundreds of puncture in election but not only 35.’
