Motorola Moto G2 or Moto G+1 leaks again ahead of launch

WASHINGTON: The IFA 2014 just few days away, now new leaked images of Motorola Moto G’s successor shows the size difference of the smartphone.

Motorola Moto G+1 or Motorola Moto G2 were the two most likely name for the device expected to launch at IFA 2014.

Motorola is expected to make several announcements at its Sept. 4 press event, where it should take the wraps off its new Moto X+1 flagship smartphone, the much-touted Moto 360 smartwatch, as well as the successor to the popular Moto G.

The budget smartphones is expected to have some significant improvements than its predecessor.

The leaked images show some narrower bezels that allow a better screen-to-size ratio for the 5-inch display, which is expected to have a 720p resolution. Other rumored specs for the Moto G2, or Moto G+1, include an 8-megapixel rear camera, a set of stereo speakers on the front, and a microSD card slot for additional memory.

As a reminder, the original Moto G did not allow for expandable storage, but Motorola added a microSD card slot with the subsequent Moto G 4G LTE model.

As for the rest of the specs, the Moto G2 is rumored to pack a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood, paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB/16GB of internal storage capacity.

The Moto G2 is also expected to offer some level of customization through interchangeable back plates, just like its predecessor. Based on this new leak, the Motorola Shells for the G2 should include white, pink, and blue color options.

None of this is official at this point, but we’ll likely learn all there is to know about the new Moto G2, or Moto G+1, at Motorola’s Sept. 4 event. In the meantime, take all leaks with a grain of salt.
