LAHORE: The unofficial judicial commission report stated that ‘usage of state power in Model Town was illegal’, electrifying report exposed by Dunya News’ anchorperson Kamran Shahid on Tuesday (today).
The report stated that police action, on Minhaj Ul Quran Secretariat at Model Town, following directions of Punjab government was illegal.
On July 17, Model Town protestors pelted stones on the police personnels while the on-duty officials opened fire in retaliation; causing deaths of innocent peoples, the report said.
However, the exposed report declared the barriers installed near MUQ Secretariat ‘legal’.
The judicial commission rejected the possibilities of police operation without consent of higher authorities.
The report also stated that there was contradiction in Chief Minister Punjab adjuration and facts, adding that police department had carried out the operation on official instructions of the Punjab government.
The decisions were made in the meeting chaired by Rana Sanaullah, moreover, the report termed the incident as massacre of the history.
The report clarified that evidences showed ‘no specific instructions from CM Punjab towards police to step back from the incident’s spot.
